One new way they get meals to people in need is through their Kitchen Coalition.
“It’s really about recognizing that not all our neighbors need groceries,” says Community Initiatives Manager, Zoë Absey. “They may need prepared meals when they’re going through a time of crisis or transition, so we work with caterers and restaurants to use their extras and the extras from the food bank to create well-balanced meals.”
In the Kitchen Coalition the Food Bank works with partners including the VA, Gladys Ray Shelter, The Jeremiah Program, and the F5 Project, and they help get the meals to people in need.
